Gambling has cost Paul Weston (Henry Thomas) almost everything – his house, his job, his wife…and his self-respect. He’s in so deep to a Lake Tahoe casino owner that when his bartender friend Vinnie(Gary Busey) lets him in on an opportunity to make some quick money, he’s interested. Unsure whether or not to join career criminal Gene(Bruce Dern) in a scheme to knock over a downtown L.A. jewelry store for millions in diamonds, his mind is made up for him by Dr. “Charlie” Brooks(Vera Farmiga). He knows he’s making a mistake, but he can’t resist the charms of this seductive and self-assured woman.



As only Paul’s luck could have it, the same jewelry store has been targeted by another trio. Investment counselor Roger Hargitay(David Boreanz) has been pushed by his overbearing boss Ed Koster(Peter Weller), a senior executive at a high-powered investment firm, to borrow money from multiple retirement accounts for an insider stock purchase that has since gone sour. Along with accountant Jason Burns(Nick Lachey), Koster has planned the diamond heist as the way to replace the money and prevent the three from doing hard time for embezzlement.



Two gangs, one heist…a sure recipe for disaster. One gang charging in through the front door, the other bursting through the back entrance - weapons drawn, a Mexican standoff…not everyone is going to walk out alive! Paul and Roger are not bad guys. They’ve just made some incredibly poor choices. Now fate has brought them together, in a world of crime and double-cross, where nothing is as it seems, and only the lucky survive!
