Lightning Entertainment focuses on the worldwide distribution and licensing of independent film products. Its core business is representation of quality theatrical films, as well as product that has strong commercial value in ancillary markets.

New to Lightning's lineup is Mexican crime thriller BACKYARD (EL TRASPATIO), directed by Carlos Carrera, the critically acclaimed director of EL CRIMEN DEL PADRE AMARO, which was nominated for a Best Foreign Language Oscar in 2003. The film stars the beautiful Ana de la Reguera and TV/film veteran Jimmy Smits.

Also new to our lineup is THE IRISHMAN, the true story of legendary gangster Danny Greene, who singlehandedly took down the Cosa Nostra in 1970's Cleveland and beyond. The film boasts an all-star cast including Ray Stevenson, Val Kilmer, Christopher Walken, and Vincent D'onofrio.

MOMENT OF TRUTH is a new thriller noir dark comedy, full of twists, turns, and mystery. It features an Oscar-nominated cast starring Thomas Haden Church, Elisabeth Shue, and Melissa Leo.

Also new is TAKING CHANCES, a hilarious romantic comedy set in a small town featuring some of the finest names in comedy today. The film stars Justin Long, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Rob Corddry, and Keir O'Donnell.

ROAD TRAIN is a truly terrifying horror thriller set in the Australian outback. It stars a great cast of new faces including Sophie Lowe (BEAUTIFUL KATE) and the much-buzzed-about Xavier Samuel of THE TWILIGHT SAGA fame.

Among current films in Lightning's varied and eclectic lineup are THE MERRY GENTLEMAN, a dramatic thriller starring Michael Keaton and Kelly MacDonald, THE WILD STALLION, a family mystery staring Miranda Cosgrove of Nickelodeon's "iCarly", NO-DO: THE BECKONING, a horror film from the acclaimed director Elio Quiroga (of THE DARK HOUR/LA HORA FRIA fame) and THE REEF, a shark attack psychological thriller currently in production in Australia.
